About the event
Learn to make Regency-style headbands with turban draping and big, big feathers in this all-day class to be held in a 19-century Parisian apartment and atelier. We will make wired buckram frames, padded and draped with beautiful fabrics of your choice, and assemble the best quality ostrich feathers into incredible plumes. All materials for the workshop are included in the class fee. Most of the necessary tools will be available for your use during class. You are welcome to bring your own materials, feathers and supplementary supplies.
All of the necessary tools will be available for your use during class. However, if you would like to bring your own head form for use during class and later at home, you can get a discount on your first order with my favorite block maker, Guy Morse Brown Hat Blocks, by mentioning that I referred you. I recommend either a dolly head or a utility block in balsa wood, plus a block spinner.
Class hours: 10am-5:30pm, with a break for lunch
Space is limited to 6 students
Sewing level: Beginner to Advanced
