Paris, 51 R. de Turbigo, 75003 Paris, France
About the event
Join us for a full day of guided shopping in the Sentier neighborhood, the hidden, professional garment district of Paris. Learn about the fascinating history of the luxury fashion industry in France as we explore the rarified stock at these out-of-the way, hard-to-find specialists in gorgeous feathers, embroidery threads, passementerie and trims, sequins, beads, buttons, ribbons, lace, and tailoring and millinery supplies that will be perfect for your costume projects. Many normally only accept wholesale clients and are hidden from view of retail customers, so this is your chance to shop for top-quality products with a guide who can get you in the door and assist you with any necessary translations.
The outing will involve a lot of walking and a few flights of stairs, so be sure to wear sensible shoes. Unfortunately, this outing may not be feasible for those with mobility issues.
Outing hours: 10am-5pm, starting with a coffee in the restaurant Café Étienne Marcel
There will be an optional meeting from 9-10am for a quick breakfast before the tour begins, please tell me in advance if you would like to be included.
We will stop for a lunch break at mid-day at the Brasserie Dubillot.
Breakfast and lunch are not included in the price of the outing (we will each pay for our own meals).
Space is limited to 10 shoppers
