About the event
Join us for a full day of guided shopping at the world-famous Saint-Ouen flea market of Paris. This enormous, maze-like market normally takes *days* to navigate. According to Time Out Paris, "Covering seven hectares, 3,000 traders and up to 180,000 visitors each weekend, the Marché aux Puces de St-Ouen is generally thought to be the biggest flea market in the world." I have developed a specially curated itinerary with costumers in mind, to visit only the best shops that specialise in gorgeous antique fabrics, trims, beads, jewelry, accessories and clothing for your costume projects. Get to know the market like a local, and benefit from having a translator on hand.
At the end of the tour, we will visit the atelier of master corset-maker François Taramin of Les Corsets de Montmartre, also known as Isadora Gamberetti, for a view into his world and craft.
The outing will involve a lot of walking, a few flights of stairs, and we will take the Metro (which also has stairs and is not always disability-accessible), so be sure to wear sensible shoes. Unfortunately, this outing may not be feasible for those with mobility issues.
Outing hours: 10am-5pm, starting with a quick breakfast at the Brasserie Bellanger at 140 rue du Faubourg Poissonniere, 75010 Paris
We will stop for lunch at mid-day at the Cafe Le Paul Bert in the heart of the market.
Breakfast and lunch are not included in the price of the outing (we will each pay for our own meals).
Space is limited to 10 shoppers
