Learn to make cocktail hats with feather trims in this two-day class to be held in a 19-century Parisian apartment and atelier. Cocktail hats are small, one-size fits all shapes, perfect to wear to parties, weddings and other festive events. We will use lush rabbit fur felts, the largest, highest-quality ostrich feathers available to produce the plushiest pompoms, and other feathers to try mixing into your design, from the atelier's large stock on hand. 

Outside of a basic sewing kit (needles, scissors, thimble), all of the necessary tools will be available for your use during class.  However, if you would like to bring your own head form for use during class and later at home, you can get a discount on your first order with my favorite block maker, Guy Morse Brown Hat Blocks, by mentioning that I referred you. I recommend either a dolly head or a utility block in balsa wood, any small, brimless blocks that you would like to try, plus a block spinner. Class hours: 10am-5:30pm on Saturday and Sunday, with a break for lunch each day

In the unlikely event that we must cancel a workshop or session, a full refund will be given to each student. In case of cancellation by a student, notice of the cancellation must be sent by email to tricia@houseofnines.com no less than 72 hours before the start of the class in order to receive a refund.
